KABANC's annual legal clinic is coming up on May 22, 2010, so please mark your calendars. This is a pro bono project that reaches out to the Korean-American community. The legal clinic over the years has served hundreds of KAs from all over the Bay Area, and we even had people coming from as far as Salinas to receive a consultation.

Attorneys and law students from all practice areas will make themselves available to provide consultations and answer questions. What we have found is that the questions that many people have are actually "basic" for most of us attorneys, sometimes not even "legal" in nature. However, for many KAs, it's very daunting and confusing because of language and access issues. One of our main objectives is to dispel individuals of those impediments that prevent them from seeking out answers by providing Korean interpreters as well as fostering a more familiar environment.
